im sick.
This week, the flu completely laid me out, it led to some “reflection”.
Before I got hit, I had big goals planned for the week—hitting my sales target, finally cleaning out the garage, and sticking to my diet and workout plan. But Tuesday came, and I found myself unable to leave bed. LOL
During the fever dream of a week, two reflections kept coming up:
"A sickness can be healing if you have the space for it."
Instead of seeing illness purely as a setback, it can be an opportunity to reflect, rest, and recover. Illness can allow us to:Slow down
Listen to our bodies
Reconnect with ourselves
"When you're healthy, so many things matter; when you're sick, only one thing matters."
Before getting sick, all my goals seemed so urgent. But when I was laid up in bed, I was happy with something as simple as a walk with my dog.
Life teaches us in many ways. This time, it came in the form of a virus. A few things I was reminded of:
Never take your health for granted.
Everything is temporary. Seriously, don't forget this.
Use every experience, especially challenges, for your spiritual growth.
Action Steps for Personal Growth
After an experience like this, I always like to walk away with tangible action steps. Here are the 5 things I’m setting the intention to do:
5 To-Do's to Become a Happier and Better Human:
Say "Thank you" first thing in the morning.
Meditate for 30 minutes.
Rest more (we all need it).
Give back to others.
Appreciate the small things in life.
That being said, I’ll be writing these out once a week, hopefully for a long time.
We’ll see where it goes.
